Rev. John-Peter Smit is the Congregational Development Consultant for the Synod. Born and raised in this Synod, he has served the church as an ordained minister for over twenty years. His previous congregations include the Chatsworth and Dornoch Pastoral Charge, Chedoke Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, Ontario and most recently the First Presbyterian Church of Maitland, Florida.
John-Peter is married to Tori, a Diaconal Minister They have two children, Jacob and Miriam. They also have two cats, Midnight and Ceilidh. When he is not engaged in ministry, he is busy playing with his MG Midget.
